Scoring drills

One way to liven up the bost/lob and bost/drive drills are to mark the corners with diagonal tape and score for landing the ball in the marked area. One candidate for marking in the back is from the back corner of the service box at the wall to the point on the back wall the width of the service box from the side wall. Front corners can be same size. Lots of variations available in a similar vein. Same areas work for deep drop/lob/drive. Another scoring example is on the bost/anything drill using rally scoring with the point to your opponent if you don't successfully hit the prescribed shot. Score to 15 and give the boster a handicap starting score of 10 - 12 points depending on skill levels. Play let if there are not at least two initial good hits. - JBS
